Ever craved a mango and wondered when they are at their absolute best? Or why red peppers cost more than green? Perhaps you’ve pondered the difference between organic and conventional produce? You’re not alone. Many folks have these same questions.

Wouldn’t it be great if you had your own personal produce expert to answer these and all your other seasonal produce questions in a fun yet intelligent manner? Well, now you do. Every Saturday Mark Mulcahy brings his 25 years of produce experience (20 in the organic industry) to the KSVY airwaves with his ‘For the Love of Produce’ show. And his co –host Mary Ann Carr adds her years of wisdom, her unbridled enthusiasm, keen point of view and love of eating.

When the clock strikes noon each Saturday tune in for practical ways to use, store, and prepare your seasonal produce with culinary pairing tips on the produce item of the week. As well as interviews with organic farmers, teachers, nutritionists, scientists, activists, or anyone who loves food and is working for a just and sustainable food system.

In a friendly, conversational format the show will often include a chat with local folks who share their favorite recipes, a ‘Did You Know?’ segment which provides tidbits of information on how your food choices affect your health and the world around you,. including pesticide, GMO, and farming issues, etc.

The Slice of Slow Food segment lets our listeners know about events, meal gatherings and meetings of the local and worldwide Slow Food chapters.
